Overview

  • Highlights

From $800 USD per night all meals and excursions are included.

The outdoor Jacuzzi with unbelievable mountain views.

A partly-submerged, almost invisible hotel that blends into the landscape.

The bespoke, guided excursions that are included in your stay.

For families, an apartment for 6 can be created via interconnecting rooms.

Why not combine your trip with a visit to its two sister hotels?

  • Top Tip

”Fall asleep with the blind open, and wake up to the most amazing view at dawn over the Torres del Paine.’

    Eco Activities

Embark on a challengingly long and steep climb, to the top of Cerro Obelisco. An adventure only offered at Tierra.

There’s no better way to explore this wonderland than on horseback. With the local Chilean gauchos at Estancia Lazo, get ready for an adventure through mixed terrain and glorious scenery.

Get involved in an education excursion with Cerro Guido Conservation Foundation, and learn about the local ecosystem here.

  • Rooms

If you can bear to tear yourself away from your bedroom view, the natural woods, wool rugs, and deep bathtub create the ultimate homely feel. A perfect refuge. For larger families or groups, an apartment that sleeps six can be created from a series of interconnected rooms.

Natural materials, and the emphasis on native wood throughout.

All 40 rooms have generous bathtubs and incredible lake views.

No TVs in the rooms give the perfect opportunity to disconnect.

Bathrooms with frosted glass printed with a windblown Patagonian tree.

  • Need to Know

The Tierra Patagonia hotel closes during the wild Chilean winter which is from 30 April until 1 October.

When you arrive the team will create a bespoke excursion plan. Sit by the fireplace with a giant hand-painted map and plot your adventures. A certain level of fitness would prove useful, but there are day trips to accommodate all ages and levels. Guests on the full-day excursions also get a packed lunch with a thermos of hot soup.

Miles from anywhere, make sure you have your meds, personal stuff, and any little extras. And pack for all four seasons, whichever time of year you choose to visit. The weather in Patagonia changes every hour.

  • Location

Patagonia locations don’t get any better than this. Positioned on the shores of Lake Sarmiento, this eco-conscious hotel has a panoramic view of the Torres del Paine, a snow-capped mountain. The striking wooden structure is the perfect refuge for explorers to return to after a day of pure adventure.

    How to get there

To keep your carbon footprint down (by avoiding an internal flight) fly to Punta Arenas – where most people choose to arrive by plane.

Tierra Patagonia has a transfer service at Punta Arenas airport – which is 4 + hours. The transfers are twice a day and it’s important to arrive on a flight that coincides with those times.

There is an option for an internal flight to Puerto Natales, which makes the journey to the hotel approximately one hour. Private transfers are available for an additional cost.
