Top Tip
‘Relax in the wood-fired wellness area – this isn’t your average spa experience.’
Eco Activities
Take a worthwhile trip to the green city of Ljubljana with the estate’s electric car. Named one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, celebrated for its pedestrian zones, architecture, and surrounding forests, it’s a shining example of what every city should look and feel like.
For adventure seekers the path through the wild Pekel Gorge is a must-see. At the entrance, you’ll notice a wooden sculpture depicting the Devil (Pekel translates as ‘Hell’). Push onwards to the dramatic waterfalls and staircases.
Hike up to the Church of Sveta Ana. At the top, sit back and enjoy the views across the Ljubljana Marshes.

Apartments
Each of the 4 eco-apartments and studio comes with its own kitchen and bathroom, capturing the unique history of the area and made with upcycled, natural materials, such as ‘hemp’ walls. Expect a healthy living, cosy space that calms the body, mind, and soul.
Upcycled floor tiles, made from the bricks of the original house.
The natural feel of the apartments, with timber, clay and hemp.
The incredibly spacious bathrooms, and relaxing showers.
The complimentary organic hemp oil gifted on arrival.

Meet Your Hosts
Meet Urša, your host, along with her trusty dog.
Urša and her husband Miha are the founders of Trnulja Country Estate. Equally passionate about sustainable living, organic farming, and wellness, their warmth and welcoming nature are a delight.
Urša initially trained as an economist in Vienna. Before starting Trnulja she worked in an office, and in her spare time with dressage horses.
Her passion for organic, homegrown Slovenian dishes is inspiring and moving. A visit to her onsite, award-winning restaurant is a must-do experience. In fact, it’s Slovenia’s only 100% organic restaurant, across food and drink.

Bring the Taste of Slovenia to Your Home
We believe Food is Travel. You don’t need to wait until you visit the destination to experience its wonders.
From the golden Slovenian sun and mythical marshy lands in which it grows to the loving care with which it’s tended to, this certified organic food range from Trnulja is something special.
“I cannot find a better organic hemp oil for my smoothies, soups, and salads! I sometimes even drizzle the oil onto my toast, it’s so tasty. Not to mention hemp is really good for you. Ursa’s passion for great food and healthy ingredients is inspiring. The corn and gluten-free biscuits are a tasty treat which makes me smile from ear to ear!” – Rebecca, Founder of Kiwano

Need to Know
The estate’s electric car is a great mode of transport to get into the city, and to see the surrounding nature in the summer. However, in the cooler months, it would be best to rent a car from this local business.
The on-site bio-restaurant is currently only open on a Sunday. Although this is likely to change in the near future, it’s worth checking. You’ll need to book in advance to get a table or if you’d like to try the organic breakfast. The zero-waste breakfast is served in your apartment and is one of the highlights here.
It’s so easy to jump into a checklist of the top 5 things to do and see in the area. Taking the time to slow down, and reconnect with one’s self cannot be overlooked. The estate’s wellness ethos and eco-approach create the perfect place to unplug, find what feels good, and simply let time pass you by.

Location
Trnulja Estate is located in the small village of Crna Vas, just outside of Slovenia’s green city of Ljubljana. It’s located in the Nature Park Ljubljansko Barje, and guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant that serves organic specialties.
There are plenty of hikes and cycling routes right on your doorstep, with the option to rent a bike from the estate.
How to get there
From the city of Ljubljana, it’s a 20-minute bus, taxi, or car ride to the estate. There is plenty of parking available if you do choose to rent a car. For the best service, and to support a local business we recommend using Renty.
