Featured in the TV series Planet Earth, Onçafari’s conservation efforts are recognised around the world.
Despite being the third largest cat in the world, the jaguar is the least studied species among the big cats. Oncafari was set up to promote environmental conservation and contribute to socio-economic development through ecotourism and scientific research.
My guest Lili Rampim is also known as THE MOTHER OF THE JAGUARS. Lili is both Oncafari’s lead field biologist and Caiman’s operations coordinator – her work lies at the intersection between Ecotourism, Reintroductions and Science.
In episode 4 discover…
- Lili’s work with jaguars and how she successfully reintroduced 2 sisters back to the wild
- What the habituation process looks like with jaguars and why it’s key for tourism
- Why some innovative conservation initiatives failed despite their best efforts
